LAST MONTH TO REGISTER FOR THE RIB’E LUGÁ LEGALIZATION PROCESS
Willemstad – The Rib’e Lugá process, which began in May, is entering its final phase. Registration for Rib’e Lugá will remain open until Saturday, October 31, 2026. The purpose of this registration process is to provide undocumented persons residing in Curaçao with the opportunity to regularize their immigration status.
The Rib’e Lugá process started on May 1, 2026, with an initial registration period of three months. According to the original plan, the registration period was scheduled to end at the end of July 2026.
However, in view of the strong interest from the community and in order to give more people the opportunity to regularize their situation, the registration period was extended by an additional three months.
This extension was considered necessary, among other reasons, for persons who were still waiting for important documents required for their registration. This gave them additional time to complete their documentation and finalize their registration.
Now that the final month of the Rib’e Lugá process has begun, it is important that persons who meet the requirements and have not yet registered take action before the registration period ends.
Final registration date: October 31, 2026
Persons who were present in Curaçao before November 13, 2025, may be eligible for the Rib’e Lugá process, provided they meet the other applicable requirements.
To facilitate the process, registration sessions will be held every remaining Saturday at the Servisio di Atmishon in Punda, with the exception of Saturday, October 10, 2026. This provides an opportunity for persons who still need to register to receive assistance during the process.
Rib’e Lugá represents a temporary opportunity for persons who meet the requirements to regularize their immigration status and work toward a safer and more stable future in Curaçao.
