Individuals of Dutch and American nationality can remain in Curaçao as a tourist for a period of 6 months per year. If you, as a Dutch or American want to stay longer, you have to apply for a Declaration Van Rechtswege. See tab Declaration Van Rechtswege for more information.
Nationals of the European Union, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Tourists with the nationality of the mentioned categories can stay for 90 days a year. If you fall under this category and want to stay longer, you have to apply for a short stay. See purpose Short stay for more information.
Nationals from countries with visa requirements and those from countries without visa requirements. Tourists that fall under this category can stay for 30 days. Do you want to stay longer? Then you have to submit an application for a tourist extension.
The documents to be submitted depend on whether you are from a country with visa requirements or a country without visa requirements. Click on countries without visa requirements and countries with visa requirements for the required documents.
Fees and retributions are due before submitting the application. For the application for a tourist extension, you have to pay an amount of Ang. 525,=. Payment must be made at Maduro & Curiel’s Bank. On the payment order, you can find the necessary information to make the payment.

After the application has been submitted, the Admission Office will take a decision on your application as soonest possible. After the decision is ready, it will be e-mailed to you.

The application can be submitted no earlier than 7, but no later than 5 days before the expiry of the tourist stay at Admissions Organization. The submission of the mentioned documents does not automatically mean that the renewal application will be granted.
A decision will be made as soon as possible on your application. If before the end of your tourist stay, you have not received a decision on your application, your application will be considered rejected. In that case, you must leave Curaçao at the end of your tourist stay at the latest.
