On February 6, 2014, the Parliament of Curaçao made a modification to the National Ordinance Admission and Deportation and the Island Ordinance fees, sufferance duties and retributions Curaçao 1992. These modifications were introduced on April 1, 2014. The modifications entail that the government of Curaçao as from April 1, 2014, by means of the Admissions Organization charges for each product and service that the Admissions Organization provides.

Upon admission to Curaçao, a guarantee deposit shall be payable, which was determined by the Minister of Justice on the basis of the applicable transport rates. After the application for admission has been approved, the person concerned must pay the guarantee deposit due.
Since April 1, 2017, it is not necessary to approach the Admission Office to receive a voucher for payment or the payable guarantee deposit. The person concerned can download the form and pay it to the account of the Tax Office. In case of banktransfer, the proof of paid guarantee deposit should be collected at the Tax Office.
The guarantee deposit to be paid depends on the nationality of the person concerned.
For children under the age of 10 years, the guarantee deposit is 50% of the fixed amount.

When can an application be submitted for a refund?
Refund can be requested upon:
– receiving a negative decision on the application for residence
OR
– paying the fees and retributions but no application has been submitted for residence. The payment shall not be due then.

Before submitting the application, make sure you have collected all the requirements. If so, the application can be submitted. All requirements must be scanned in PDF format. The application should be mailed to intake@immigrationcur.org.
After the application has been submitted, you can contact the Admission Office after 6 weeks to check on the status of your refund.
Once the refund is processed, you can make an appointment to receive a voucher.
After receiving the voucher you must contact the Tax Office by sending this form by e-mail.
A copy of a valid ID and the voucher should be submitted as well.
