Are you coming to live and work in Curaçao and do you have dependent family members who will join you?
Then they must apply for a Declaration Van Rechtswege with the purpose of family reunification.
SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION
Before submitting the application, make sure you have collected all the requirements. If so, the application can be submitted. All requirements must be scanned in PDF format. Click here to submit the application.
DECISION ON YOUR APPLICATION
After the application has been submitted, the Admission Office has 4 months to take a decision on your application. After the decision is ready, it will be e-mailed to you.
If you have received a positive decision, you must make an appointment to receive the Declaration van Rechtswege. Click here to make the appointment.
If you have received a negative decision, then you have 6 weeks to file a notice of objection. The notice of objection must be e-mailed to info@immigrationcur.org.
The requirements that have to be submitted for people that fall under paragraph F and H are:
- Proof of payment Fees & Retribution0;
- Copy of valid passport. If several nationalities, copy of all passports;
- Copy of birth certificate1 (not older than 1 year). Show original for inspection;
- If acknowledged, copy of the certificate of acknowledgement¹ (not older than 1 year). Show original for inspection;
- Declaration of good conduct (not older than 3 months) for persons of 18 years and older. Submit original
- If married:
- copy marriage certificate1 (not older than 1 year); Show original for inspection.
- if the couple got married abroad: a copy of the marriage registration at the Public Affairs Department. If the couple immigrates at the same time, only the marriage certificate1 is required, in accordance with the above-mentioned.
- If cohabiting, a copy of the notarial cohabitation agreement that must have been concluded in the Netherlands (BES islands, among others), together with a proof of the unmarried/divorced/widowed status
- Proof of sufficient financial resources of the main applicant2
COSTS
Fees and retributions are due before submitting the application. For the application for a Declaration Van Rechtswege, you have to pay an amount of Ang. 615,=. Payment must be made at Maduro & Curiel’s Bank. On the payment order, you can find the necessary information to make the payment.

¹Depending on the country of birth/recognition/marriage, the birth certificate/deed of recognition/ marriage certificate should be legalized or apostilled. EU-countries are exempted from this.
²The standard amounts of sufficient financial resources with regard to family reunification with a Dutch citizen: the spouse as main applicant should demonstrate an income of at least Ang. 1,900,= gross per month. In case of the admission of children as aditional family member , the following standard amounts must be added:
Age: 0 to 5 years Ang. 300,= per child
6 to 11 years Ang. 450,= per child
12 years and older Ang. 650,= per child
The requirements that have to be submitted for family members of consuls and consular staff are:
- Proof of payment Fees & Retribution0;
- Copy valid passport. If several nationalities, copy of all passports;
- Copy birth certificate1 (not older than 1 year). Show original for inspection;
- If acknowledged, copy of the certificate of acknowledgement¹ (not older than 1 year). Show original for inspection;
- Certificate of good conduct (not older than 3 months) for persons of 18 years and older. Submit original
- copy marriage certificate1 (not older than 1 year); Show original for inspection.
- if the couple got married abroad: a copy of the marriage registration at the Public Affairs Department. If the couple immigrates at the same time, only the marriage certificate1 is required, in accordance with the abovementioned.
- If cohabiting, a copy of the notarial cohabitation agreement that must have been concluded in the Netherlands (BES islands, among others), together with a proof of the unmarried/divorced/widowed status
- If one of the parents of a child will not come to Curaçao:
- copy valid passport of the parent staying behind with a notarial declaration of no objection from the parent staying behind or if only the father or mother has parental authority or custody, then a copy of the ruling by the Court. The notarial declaration of no objection or the court decision must be legalized or apostilled. This depends on the country of origin. EU countries are excluded from this.
- Proof of sufficient financial resources of the main applicant
